BRAFFTV produces an annual competitive program with approximately 300 submissions of films (short, medium length, and feature), from all regions of Brazil. This large representative sample of Brazilian productions showcase the genres, accents, and cultural diversity from north to the south of the country as well as the technical and artistic quality of cinema producers and directors from every corner of Brazil.

Toronto breathes cinema and promotes around 110 international festivals every year. BRAFFTV is an opportunity for Brazilian cinema professionals to showcase their films to a diverse audience in one of the most important film festival stages of the world.

Professor Hudson Moura has been BRAFFTV`s programmer since 2011. He was preceded by journalist Celso Sabadin, programmer from 2007 to 2010.

My passion for cinema has led me to a variety of different fields and perspectives from art, philosophy, and media and literary studies. After my M.A. degree in Semiotics at PUC-São Paulo, I completed a Ph.D. in Film Studies and Comparative Literature at Université de Montréal. As a postdoctoral fellow in film studies at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, I pursued teaching and academic research investigating interculturality and emergent cinematic forms. Presently, I am teaching film courses at Ryerson University and OCAD University. I have been publishing my research steadily in French, Brazilian, American, Portuguese, and Canadian academic refereed journals and books. Recently, I was the guest editor of a special issue of the Université de Montréal´s journal Cinémas focusing on contemporary Brazilian cinema. My audiovisual productions have profiled filmmakers and artists, such as Orides Fontella and Amylton de Almeida. Also, I am the chair of the programming committee for the International Diaspora Film Festival of Toronto.
